Visitors choose Cairns, Port Douglas and the Daintree for places where the rainforest meets the reef. Nothing shows that better than aerial footage. We help tourism businesses capture their location, experience and setting in a way that works on booking sites, social media and trade presentations.

We are part of MCL Oceania, which also runs travel, tours and 360° VR divisions, so we understand what tourism marketers need from their content.

Reef, rainforest and permits

Much of the best scenery around Cairns is in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, Queensland national parks and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Commercial filming in these places usually needs a permit. We help you plan the right permits and lead times, and fly in line with park and marine park rules, including keeping clear of wildlife.

Where we film

  • Cairns Esplanade, city and Northern Beaches
  • Port Douglas, Four Mile Beach and Mossman
  • The Daintree and Cape Tribulation
  • Atherton Tablelands waterfalls and farms
  • Mission Beach and the Cassowary Coast
  • Island and reef locations, subject to access and permits

Tourism filming FAQ

The dry season, roughly May to October, usually brings clearer skies and lighter winds. Early morning and late afternoon give the softest light on the reef, beaches and rainforest. We watch the forecast closely and pick the best window for your shoot.

Flying in Queensland national parks and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park has extra rules, and some locations need a permit. We check what applies to your location early so the shoot can be planned properly.

CASA rules restrict flying over people and require drones to keep a safe distance from anyone not involved in the shoot. We plan angles and timing so guests stay safe and the footage still feels busy and alive.
